Who we are
This website is operated by Tom Kindley Home Improvements (“we”, “us”, “our”), a home improvement business based in Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom. For the purposes of UK data protection law, we are the controller of the personal information described in this policy.
If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your information, email [email protected].
The information we collect
When you complete the quote form on our website, we collect the information you choose to give us, which may include:
- your name and email address;
- your phone number and postcode, if provided;
- the service you are interested in and any project details you include in your message;
- the web page from which the form was sent.
If you email us directly, we will receive your email address and anything you include in your message.
How we use your information
We use your information to:
- respond to your enquiry and provide a quote;
- arrange surveys, measurements and installation dates if you decide to go ahead;
- keep records of the work we carry out and communicate with you about it;
- meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.
We will not sell your information or use it for unrelated marketing.
Our lawful basis
We process enquiry information because it is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract with you, and because we have a legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us. Where we must keep records by law, such as for tax purposes, we rely on our legal obligations.
Who we share information with
Our website form is processed by Formspree, a form-handling service that receives your submission and forwards it to us by email. Formspree may process data outside the UK; where this happens, appropriate safeguards are required under UK data protection law. You can read Formspree’s own privacy policy on its website.
We may also share information with trusted suppliers where needed to carry out your work (for example, to order a product made to your measurements), or where we are required to by law.
How long we keep information
If you do not go ahead with a quote, we keep your enquiry for no longer than is reasonably necessary to follow it up, after which it is deleted. If you become a customer, we keep records for as long as needed to support the work we have carried out and to meet legal and accounting requirements.
Cookies and third-party content
This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies. Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google’s servers and shares your IP address so the fonts can be delivered. Google’s privacy policy explains how it handles this information.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- ask us to delete your information, where we no longer have a reason to keep it;
- object to or ask us to restrict how we use your information;
- ask for your information to be transferred to another organisation, where applicable.
To make a request, email [email protected]. We will respond within one month.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first so we can try to put things right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last changed.
